نیروی هوایی ایالات متحده آمریکا با همراهی نیروی فضایی این کشور، به زودی فضاپیمای اسرارآمیز X-37B را در ششمین مأموریت سری خود به فضا پرتاب خواهد کرد. این فضاپیمای بدون سرنشین قادر به طی دوره های بسیار طولانی در مدار نزدیک زمین بدون نیاز به سوخت رسانی مجدد بوده و در یک الگوی مداری با ردیابی بسیار دشوار کار می کند.

نیروی هوایی آمریکا بیش از یک دهه است که روی فضاپیمای X-37B کار می کند و جزئیات دقیقی از نحوه کارکرد و اهداف آن در اختیار عموم قرار نداده است.
وب سایت نیروی هوایی ، اطلاعات جزئی در مورد فضاپیما داشته و می گوید: “این پروژه آزمایشی به منظور نمایش فناوری هایی برای یک سکوی پرتاب قابل اعتماد ، قابل استفاده مجدد و بدون سرنشین در نیروی هوایی ایالات متحده است” و با هدف ایجاد فن آوری های قابل استفاده در فضاپیما و انجام آزمایش های مختلف فعالیت خواهد نمود.

در آگوست سال گذشته این فضاپیما رکورد جدیدی را برای زمان صرف شده در مدار نزدیک زمین در 718 روز ثبت کرد. سپس در اکتبر 2019 با دستیابی به  رکورد 780 روز در مدار نزدیک زمین ، رکورد قبلی خود را شکست.

پرتاب فضاپیمای آزمایشی X-37B سازمان نیروی هوایی آمریکا در مدار نزدیک زمین

آنچه در مورد پرتاب می دانیم:

X-37B بار دیگر به فضا پرتاب خواهد شد و ششمین مأموریت خود را در مدار زمین خواهد داشت، اگرچه نیروی هوایی اعلام نکرده است که هدف از این مأموریت چیست.
این فضاپیما توسط یک موشک (Atlas V (ULA به عنوان بخشی از مأموریت تعیین شده USSF-7 (نیروی فضایی ایالات متحده -7) حمل می شود و ماموریت آن پرتاب Complex-41 از ایستگاه نیروی هوایی کیپ کانناورال فلوریدا خواهد بود.

ULA در یادداشت های خود در مورد این پرتاب می گوید: “بخش هوایی Rapid Capabilities Office ، فضاپیمای X-37B را جهت پرواز تحت فشار قرار داده و با فعالیت های روزافزون خود با شرکای این پروژه در ششمین مأموریت خود، همکاری های بیشتری خواهد کرد.”
